I went with MasterServ because they were more professional than the other companies I had spoken to, and have been around for decades, even though they were about $2k more than my second choice. My main goals for repiping the house were to (1) increase the pressure, especially when 2 faucets were on at once, and (2) to prevent water damage caused by old failing pipes (I had had a small leak in each of the two showers in the preceding months.) Unfortunately, due to two stupid mistakes, they put much more water in each of two walls than both of my shower leaks combined. The first was caused by forgetting to solder a joint for the upstairs toilet. The joint blew about 15 minutes after turning the water on. It was splashing on to the stairs, down the inside of the wall, and into the dining room ceiling, where it fell out like rain into the dining room. The second was hanging the drain hose for the washing machine in a hole in the garage wall, so the washing machine drained into the wall, which leaked into the garage and basement. They still need to come and patch the walls. I can only hope that goes well. Update: It's now 20 December, and they've yet to call me about coming to patch the walls. Also, I left 2 messages last week for the estimator who wrote the contract, and he hasn't called me either. In the meantime, their competition has called to see if I have any questions about their service. I also noticed that the edges of the plaster in the stairway appears to have turned yellow where the first leak was. I'm doing a test to confirm this.
I have an album of the whole repiping process.
I've decided to leave this here, but since it's still growing (I wish it would end!) I've decided to do any updates to another page.
Hey, I actually won something. I usually don't enter contests anymore, after years of not winning a dime, but I like Patrick Henry, so I entered the Patrick Henry Giveaway at BillOreilly.com and won $1,000!
If you are looking for Wil Heitritter, you can e-mail me. I am the webmaster and a piper for the award-winning LA Scots Pipe Band. I'm also the senior webmaster at Warner Bros. Online. If you were looking for a big flashy site, sorry. This is just something I've been slowly piecing together over the years. I only registered heitritter.com so my email address wouldn't have to keep changing...
Since dvdtracker went commercial and won't let me list any of my new purchases without paying them, I've decided to do my own list. It's very simple right now, but I plan on adding more info than the release year at some point.
I'm a fan of WWII security ("Loose Lips") posters. Several of these were produced by the Office of War Information. I haven't been able to find a complete list of OWI posters, so I'm creating my own list. List of OWI Posters.
Just when I thought all the good stuff had left antique stores for ebay, I found a somewhat rare harness for the German WWII RZ20 parachute (used by paratroops in the invasion of Crete, though this one was made after the invasion). I found it hard to find pictures of it online, so I thought I'd post some here for other collectors... I'm always looking for WWII combat uniforms and equipment to buy!
My new house.
My photo albums.
I've decided to build a site for CSUSB alumni. The goal is to help me find old friends, or help them find me.
If you are looking for wedding pictures from the 17 June, 2000 Samantha Heitritter - Michael Penrod wedding, raw images can be found here: http://photos.heitritter.com/other/wedding/. They will be cleaned up, the final album will probably end up here: http://www.heitritter.com/wedding/
NOTE: The current images are 1280x960 pixels and average around 200k, so may take a while to download using a modem.
Websites I've done:
E-mail if you need a bagpiper in the Los Angeles, California area, if you're just one of the few people who can say "heitritter.com, hey, that's MY last name!", or if you have any stuff from WWII you want to sell me (or donate!)
